This Group, which is unique in the UK, was formed in 1965 to encourage friendship between the women of Maidenhead and its twinned towns of St Cloud (near Paris) France, Bad Godesberg (near Bonn) Germany, Frascati (near Rome) Italy, Kortrijk in Belgium and Salzburg, Austria, each of which has a similar Group of its own. Together these Groups make up the European Friendship Circle. Every year, about 12 of our members visit another Group, and in return we host about 12 members from one of the other Groups.
Our members meet on the second Wednesday of the month at the United Reformed Church, West Street, 10.30 - 12.30 pm. It is not necessary to be a linguist to join, just to have a sincere wish to know more about Europe and our fellow European women.
Annual Subscription £50.00
